Front Office Supervisor Job Description
Position Overview: The Front Office Supervisor is key to ensuring excellent guest service and efficient daily operations at the front desk. This role involves leading the front office team, supporting staff, and maintaining high standards of hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
Oversee daily front office operations, ensuring adherence to company standards and policies.
Supervise and support front desk staff, assisting with guest check-ins and check-outs, and addressing any questions or concerns.
Guest Engagement:
Welcome guests upon arrival and facilitate a smooth registration process, confirming reservations and verifying credit information.
Utilize suggestive selling techniques to promote hotel services and enhance guest experiences.
Team Leadership:
Train and mentor new team members, providing ongoing support and coaching to enhance their skills and service quality.
Assign specific tasks related to guest registration, billing, and maintaining the cleanliness of the front office area.
Customer Service Excellence:
Ensure outstanding customer care by responding promptly and courteously to guest inquiries and concerns, whether in person or over the phone.
Resolve guest complaints efficiently, maintaining a high level of satisfaction.
Financial Management:
Maintain a house bank, accurately reporting receipts and processing cash transactions in line with hotel policies.
Monitor credit opportunities and ensure compliance with company credit limit policies.
Communication and Coordination:
Foster strong relationships with other departments, particularly housekeeping and reservations, to ensure cohesive operations.
Update and manage the front office and hotel log books, ensuring accurate communication of guest needs and operational issues.
Safety and Security:
Adhere to guest check-in and security procedures, reporting any suspicious activity to management or security personnel.
Additional Duties:
Participate in hotel committees and assist other departments during peak times.
Step in for the Duty Manager or Front Office Manager as needed, demonstrating leadership and responsibility.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a supervisory role within a hotel front office setting is preferred.
Proficient in property management systems and front office operations.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
