Duty Manager Job Description Position Overview: The Duty Manager is essential for ensuring seamless operations within the hotel, overseeing the Front Office and acting as the primary liaison among various departments. This role focuses on enhancing guest experiences, managing staff, and ensuring the facility runs smoothly. Key Responsibilities: Operational Oversight: Manage daily operations at the Front Office, ensuring efficient guest movements and lobby activities. Provide visible management presence during shifts, addressing issues as they arise. Collaborate with department heads in Food and Beverage, Accommodation, and Front of House to ensure all areas are prepared and staffed effectively. Guest Relations: Serve as the main point of contact for guests, addressing inquiries, requests, and complaints with professionalism. Gather guest feedback to identify areas for improvement and enhance overall satisfaction. Staff Supervision and Support: Supervise and support Front Office, Guest Service, and Concierge teams, offering guidance as needed. Assist in training initiatives to promote a culture of excellence and continuous improvement among staff. Administrative Duties: Help with room allocations and reservations to maximize occupancy and revenue. Address sales inquiries in the absence of the sales department and oversee events such as weddings and conferences. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations throughout the hotel. Communication and Coordination: Maintain open communication with staff to facilitate problem-solving and distribute work duties effectively. Report any facility issues, damages, or necessary repairs to the General Manager and follow up on resolutions
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role within the Front Office of a luxury hotel. Familiarity with property management systems and Front Office software; experience with Opera Cloud is a plus. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. This role is pivotal in creating a welcoming environment for guests and ensuring that all departments work in harmony to provide outstanding service. With dedication and expertise, the Duty Manager contributes significantly to the overall success of the hotel.
