Description of Duties
The Bell Attendant, also known as the Bellhop, plays a crucial role in establishing a positive first impression for guests at a hotel or serviced apartment. This position requires a well-groomed, confident, and friendly individual who engages effectively with guests. Responsibilities include greeting arrivals, guiding them through the check-in process, escorting them to their rooms, and managing their luggage. The Bell Attendant also provides assistance to guests with disabilities or special needs and ensures the security of guest belongings. It's essential to check that all luggage is accurately tagged in the storage area. This role demands physical fitness and the ability to work shifts. Key Responsibilities: Guest Engagement: Greet and assist guests upon arrival, providing a warm welcome and ensuring a smooth check-in experience. Luggage Management: Efficiently collect and deliver guest luggage, ensuring proper tagging and secure storage. Room Assistance: Escort guests to their assigned rooms, placing luggage inside and informing them about room amenities. Communication: Maintain clear communication with guests, providing information on hotel services and local attractions, and responding to inquiries. Errand Support: Deliver messages, packages, and other items to guest rooms as needed, and assist other departments during busy periods. Safety & Security: Ensure that guests’ personal items are stored safely and manage requests for long-term luggage storage. Professionalism: Uphold a professional image and foster positive interactions with both guests and team members. Adaptability: Embrace changes in the workplace and demonstrate emotional intelligence in guest interactions. Operational Support: Assist the senior concierge and take on additional tasks as assigned by management, including managing phone inquiries and record-keeping for luggage movements.
Qualifications
Proficient in English, with knowledge of a second language preferred. Capability to operate essential mobile devices for job-related tasks. Physical fitness to handle the demands of luggage management and guest assistance. By embodying a service-oriented attitude and a commitment to safety, the Bell Attendant/Bellhop ensures that guests receive an outstanding experience during their stay.
